The plain north of the old town over which the Visigothic city spread, outside the river bend that today's Toledo occupies. It is known mostly from scattered finds since the 16th century, among them graves and the epigraphic creed now in the Museo de los Concilios, and it is barely excavated. There are no ruins to see: it is open ground of market gardens and building plots, under threat from development, and what has been found there is in the city's museums.
