Its dating is disputed, between the 7th century and the 9th: the parallel with San Juan de Baños and the liturgical layout point to the second third of the 7th century, though specialists are still working on its chronology and some read a later Mozarabic influence in it. Barrel vaults of horseshoe section cover the nave, the transept and the three apses, and twelve engaged columns run round the transept.
