Visigothic kingdom
Santa Comba de Bande
Today: Bande, Spain
- Years
- 601–711
One of the best preserved Visigothic churches of the northwest, in the south of the province of Ourense. The cartulary of Celanova records a 9th century donation saying the church consecrated to Saint Columba had by then been founded for more than two hundred years, and the building is dated to the 7th century. Before it there was a Suebic-period monastic complex of which nothing is recorded.
