A royal foundation of Recceswinth, consecrated in 661, and the Visigothic church that best explains itself: the marble slab with the dedication in hexameters, giving the donor's name and the date, is still set above the chancel arch. Its doorway carries a horseshoe arch oversprung by a third of the radius, and inside are arches on reused marble columns, with capitals imitated in Visigothic times.
