Ruins

The largest early Christian martyrial church known in the peninsula, in open country south of León. The rectangular hall is of the 4th century, and between the 5th and the 7th a sanctuary with thirteen graves was set inside it; the Visigothic part is the baptistery to the northwest, of the 6th and 7th centuries, with its brick font lined in opus signinum. It was excavated in 1967 to 1970 and again in 2009 and 2019; the walls survive at ground level.
