Consecrated in 635, according to the marble slab found in nine fragments in 1962: "this basilica was consecrated to Saint Mary and to (…), in the episcopate of Oroncius". It is the first inscription of its kind found in the province of Cáceres and is in the Museo de Cáceres. In the field the masonry footings of the nave and the grave pits remain; the grave goods are in the museum too.
