The oldest civil building known at Italica, built between the 1st century BCE and the 1st century CE on the slope of the Cerro de San Antonio, with room for three thousand. It stayed in use, by then only occasionally, until at least the 5th century, and was later buried under tipping and the floods of the Guadalquivir. It was excavated between 1970 and 1973 and today holds the Italica theatre festival.
