A salting works of the 1st century BCE, on what was the channel dividing the two islands of Gades, with its vats set around an open courtyard. It came to light in 1995 when the Teatro Andalucía was pulled down, and it had been abandoned by the early 5th century. The remains cover 330 square metres on calle Sacramento and can be visited.
