An immune colony founded in 14 BCE over the Iberian town of Salduie, with the privilege of carrying its founder's full name; Augustus gave its deductio to his general and close friend Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa. Its height came in the 1st and 2nd centuries, and from it there remain the forum, the river port that made it the great redistributor of the Ebro, the baths, the theatre and the wall.
