A colony founded at an uncertain date in the reign of Augustus, small and walled, on the plain between the Besòs and the Llobregat. Its height came in the 2nd and 3rd centuries, and in the 4th it had a second moment of weight in which it outdid even Tarraco, above all for its wall, which kept the invasions out. Of that city there remain the wall and four columns of the temple of Augustus.
