What remains
Site or museum

A sacred precinct of Tanit and Baal in the Salammbô quarter, beside the Punic harbours, half sanctuary and half cemetery, with a great many children's graves. The oldest thing on the site is the so-called Cintas chapel, a foundation deposit with pottery of the 8th century BCE. Its stelae were scattered across the whole site after the destruction of 146 BCE and the building of the Roman city. It is part of the World Heritage site of Carthage.
