The two lagoons that were the harbours of the sea power, one circular of some eight hectares and one rectangular of twice that, joined by a narrow bar. Chateaubriand identified them early in the 19th century, and the excavations of the UNESCO international campaign confirmed their Punic origin, dating them to the 2nd century BCE from the pottery in the careening slips. Of the canal that joined the commercial harbour to the sea, nothing is left in the bay of Kram.
