The hill above Adra where the colony stood, protected as a listed monument. It was a prosperous port in the 8th and 7th centuries BCE and stayed lived in under Punic rule until Rome took it about 207 BCE. The looting of the site has been systematic for two centuries: much of what was found, an alabastron from its cemetery among it, is in the Museo de Almería, and its Punic coins in the Museo Arqueológico Nacional and in the one at Granada.
