What remains
Standing

A tower built in the 16th century, where one of Yūsuf I had stood, to guard the making and loading of salt against pirates; Luis de Castro Inestrosa later rebuilt its walls, towers and dwellings with a parapet for artillery, and in the 18th century it was repaired in 1710, from 1753 to 1756, in 1777 and in 1784. The earthquake of 1804 ruined its interior; rebuilt between 1997 and 2003 to the original plans, it is an exhibition centre today.
