Standing

A fortress of the second half of the 18th century, part of Carlos III's coastal defence system, on a hilltop by the boundary with the Kingdom of Murcia: Thomas de Warluzel d'Hostel's design was altered and finished in 1764 by Antonio Duce Oliveros. It has a hornwork plan, battered walls and semicircular bastions.
