A tapering watchtower of dark stone on a steep hill, named "broken" because it stood in ruins for years; the Ordinances of 1497 already call it that. It was rebuilt in 1504 and, still ruinous, again in the mid 16th century by the Granada mason Pedro de la Chica. Two guards kept it for 25 maravedís a day, one of them walking the route to Torre Bermeja.
