Years: 1485–1833

Fernando the Catholic had the fortress of Benalmádena pulled down in 1485, and the town lay empty until the resettlement charter of 1491. Corsair landings went on throughout the 16th century, so the Bermeja and Quebrada towers were repaired and the Muelle tower built to give warning; from 1560 the raids grew fewer.
