A tapering watchtower 10.5 metres high on the Cerro Gordo point, which closes the bay of La Herradura to the west, in the Maro-Cerro Gordo Cliffs natural park. It is thought to have been built in the late 16th or early 17th century where a Naṣrid watchtower once stood; its keepers signalled with smoke by day and fire by night, and in the 19th century the customs guard used it as a lookout.
