A bastion for four guns built in 1772 to defend the port of Almería, on top of a promontory more than 70 metres above the bay. Badly damaged in the Peninsular War, it was restored in the 19th century, and since 1864 it has held a lighthouse, a white tower with a black band and the indalo figure.
