An Andalusi town of the 10th and 11th centuries on an island in the Huelva estuary, seat of the Banū Bakr taifa, living from metalworking, fishing and trade. It was slowly abandoned after 1052. The site, with a central fortress, lies in the Marismas del Odiel nature area, on private land.
