The ruins of a madīna lived in from the 9th to the 12th century: the wall, with a western stretch of Umayyad ashlar, encloses eight hectares under an alcazaba, and outside lie a suburb and two cemeteries. It has been proposed as the Nafza of the Arabic sources, but scholars do not agree. Excavated since 1975, it opens on Saturday mornings from 16 May to 31 January.
