Vascos
Today: Navalmoralejo (Ciudad de Vascos), Spain
- Years
- 801–1085
Vascos was a madīna on the river Huso, near the fords of the Tagus: perhaps a 9th-century ribāṭ, then a ḥiṣn settled by Berbers and a town in caliphal times. It belonged to the taifa of Toledo, may have passed to the Christians around 1085 and was abandoned soon after. It has been proposed as the Nafza of the Arabic sources, but scholars do not agree.
