The main entrance to Andalusi Granada, on the road to Madīnat Ilbīra, mentioned as early as the 9th century. The Zirids built it into their walls in the 11th century, and it was rebuilt as a fortified gate in the 14th. Today it is the arch at the start of Calle Elvira.
