The palace-city of the Nasrid sultans on the Sabika hill, begun in 1238 by Muhammad I. Its most famous parts, the Court of the Myrtles and the Court of the Lions, date from the reigns of Yusuf I (1333 to 1354) and Muhammad V. Visitors walk the alcazaba, the Nasrid palaces and their gardens.
