The country palace that the Almohad governor sayyid Isḥāq ibn Yūsuf raised beside the Genil in 1218 (1218 or 1219 in the English article), on an estate outside the walls, with a pool 121 metres long. It passed to the Naṣrids, and its carved stucco, muqarnas cornice and wooden cupola date from Ismāʿīl I or Yūsuf I. The central pavilion survives and houses the Francisco Ayala Foundation.
