The old citadel of Granada, the first core of the city when Zāwī ibn Zīrī refounded it around 1010, holding the palace of the Zīrid kings on which Dar al-Horra was later built. It had at least four gates, among them today's Arco de las Pesas. Most of its northern wall still stands, at the top of the Albaicín.
