The fortress on the highest hill of Dénia, laid out in the Islamic period in the 11th and 12th centuries. The Andalusi parts to see are the Almohad-style Portal de la Villa and the 12th-century Cos de Guardia tower; the bastions and the governor's palace are 16th and 17th century.
