Roman Hispania

Valeria

Today: Las Valeras, Spain

Years
93 BCE–409

It was founded between 93 and 82 BCE by the consul Gaius Valerius Flaccus, whose name it took, on land won the century before from the Celtiberians and the Olcades. Its great moment was the 1st century, when the forum complex went up on a platform with the cisterns buried inside it. The nymphaeum, its most distinctive building, was never lost from sight.
