The Arevaci city that held off Roman attacks for twenty years and that Publius Cornelius Scipio Aemilianus besieged in the summer of 133 BCE. After thirteen months of hunger and sickness, their supplies gone, the Numantines put an end to their situation. Under Rome the territory was restored to the Pelendones; the final decline came in the 3rd century and the city is held to have been unoccupied by the 4th.
