The chief Roman trace in Málaga, at the foot of the Alcazaba hill, a work of the early years of the empire. It is of mixed construction: it uses the slope for the seating, in the Greek manner, and builds where the rock runs out. It keeps much of the cavea, the orchestra with its marble slabs and the stage. It was found in 1951, when it was at first taken for a gate in the wall.
