Iluro

Today: Mataró, Spain

Years
100 BCE–409

It was founded from scratch in the first half of the 1st century BCE, taking over the role of Ilduro, the Iberian town that struck bronze coin at Cabrera de Mar, five kilometres away. Its orthogonal plan, rectangular in outline, is still fossilised in some streets of central Mataró.
