Site or museum

The largest theatre in Hispania and the second in the empire, with a cavea 124 metres across and room for some fifteen thousand. It went up under Augustus, before the year 5 BCE, and its decoration went on into the Julio-Claudian period; an earthquake in the 3rd century ruined it. It was found in 1994 and its remains are visited under the Archaeological and Ethnological Museum of Córdoba.
