An amphitheatre of the 1st century BCE cut into the rock of the ridge, beside the necropolis and the Via Augusta, with seating for some eighteen thousand. What survives is the lower seating, the entrances and the oval arena, 55 by 39 metres, with the channels the cage ropes ran in and the holes for the posts. Its owners gave it to the state in 1973.
