The town of the Lusones on the hills of Bámbola, San Paterno and Santa Bárbara, which minted coin first in Iberian letters and then as a Roman municipium in the time of Augustus, when it entered the conventus Caesaraugustanus. It was the home of the poet Martial. Of it there remain the forum, the theatre and the baths on the slope, and a siphon of the aqueduct a kilometre to the north.
