The town of the Flavian waters, in the valley of the Tâmega, which owes its name to the dynasty under which it received its rank. It had famous baths thought to have lasted into the 4th century, and the bridge over the Tâmega, of the end of the 1st century and the start of the 2nd, still stands with its commemorative columns.
