One of the few Andalusi bridges still standing in Spain and the oldest structure in Guadalajara: ashlar laid in headers and stretchers, more than 117 metres across the Henares. It was thought Roman until a 1940 study by Torres Balbás; it is now linked to the building works of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān III, in the 10th century. The two arches nearest the town are caliphal; the fifth is medieval Christian and the other two are 18th century.
