A fortified complex of Almohad origin, probably 12th century, that was the fortress and seat of power of Andalusi Jerez, in the south-west corner of the walls. It is one of the few examples of Almohad architecture in the peninsula; Baroque buildings were added later. It is open to visitors all year.
