The new gate of the wall that closed the isthmus to the west, from the caliphal period, built after ʿAbd al-Raḥmān III took Ceuta; the Almohads added a bent entrance. It was walled up inside the Royal Walls until its caliphal ashlar was recognised in the Baluarte de la Coraza in 2002. Restored in 2016, it shows its horseshoe arch and domed chamber, beside Roman kilns and fish-salting works.
