A 13th-century gate on the south side of the town, with three successive doorways and two semicircular towers; its name comes from the Arabic al-maqābir, after the Muslim cemetery nearby. The Castilian troops gathered in front of it on 20 May 1485, when Andalusi rule over Ronda ended. It was remodelled under Charles V.
