The cistern of the Andalusi alcázar, under the courtyard of the Palacio de las Veletas, which was built in the 15th century over the destroyed alcázar: five brick-vaulted aisles on sixteen horseshoe arches and twelve reused columns, some Roman and Visigothic. Its date is disputed: some place it in the caliphal or early taifa period, while Torres Balbás held it to be Almohad. It can be visited inside the Museo de Cáceres, made accessible in the works of 1932.
