The octagonal tower on the stretch of wall between the Puerta de la Macarena and the Puerta de Córdoba, the only part of the Seville circuit that keeps its curtain wall, with eight smaller towers and the barbican. The article calls it Almohad while tying it to the enlargement under the sultan ʿAlī ibn Yūsuf, and dates it to the 12th or 13th century. It is seen from the Ronda Histórica; it was partly pulled down in 1868.
