A Naṣrid fortress on the Loma del Castillo, a kilometre from Restábal, which controlled the valley's villages and the road from Granada to the coast; its tower is dated to the reign of Yūsuf I or Muḥammad V. It keeps stretches of wall, remains of two towers, a crenellated tower and a large four-aisled cistern with horseshoe arches. A path leads up from the Calvario quarter.
